A User’s View (above): The “Owned Folder” is owned by this user. Note the tab on the folder’s edge. This gives the user a visual clue that they own this folder. The “Access Allowed” folder is owned by someone else. This user can open the folder and access files inside. The “No Access” folder is owned by someone else, we do not have any access to it. The “Make Changes, No Access” folder is someone elses. We cannot open it to access its contents, but we can drag files into it...like a “drop box” of sorts. The “Access Privileges” window (right): is similar to a “Get Info” window. It shows who owns a folder. If the user owns the selected folder, they have the options of setting the nine levels of security available. In this case, the “Access Priveleges” window is showing the settings for the “Owned Folder” from the window above.
